The interior of Mordor was composed of three large regions. Others have observed that Tolkien depicts Mordor as specifically evil, and as a vision of industrial environmental degradation, contrasted with either the homey Shire or the beautiful elvish forest of Lothlorien.įurther information: Mount Doom and Barad-dûr

Another forerunner that Tolkien was very familiar with is the account of the monster Grendel's unearthly landscapes in the Old English poem Beowulf. These both protected the land from invasion and kept those living in Mordor from escaping.Ĭommentators have noted that Mordor was influenced by Tolkien's own experiences in the industrial Black Country of the English Midlands, and by his time fighting in the trenches of the Western Front in the First World War. Mordor was surrounded by three mountain ranges, to the north, the west, and the south. Mount Doom, a volcano in Mordor, was the goal of the Fellowship of the Ring in the quest to destroy the One Ring.

It lay to the east of Gondor and the great river Anduin, and to the south of Mirkwood. Tolkien's fictional world of Middle-earth, Mordor (pronounced from Sindarin Black Land and Quenya Land of Shadow) is the realm and base of the evil Sauron. The Land of Shadow, the Black Land, the Nameless Landīarad-dûr (the Dark Tower), Mount Doom, the Morannon (Black Gate), Cirith Ungol, Gorgoroth, Udûn The combat is so Arkham which is good.Mordor (red) and its sphere of influence (pink) within Middle-earth, T.A. The climbing is similar to assassins creed but far more fast and unrealistic and not as fun. The enemy system is pretty cool like I came to fight one warchief and I had to fight about 5 orc captains at the same time pretty crazy but I died, and then the warchief became so powerful he had one minor weakness, and a million strengths.

The characters are soooooo boring the most interesting character seemed to be Gollum and the Dwarf hunter was alright but Talion, Hirgon and Celebrimbor ETC have such boring generic deep british accents. I was a huge LOTR fan but this games story doesn't fit in very well in my opinion I haven't finished the game yet because of this bug. 8/10 … Expandįirst things first this game deleted itself for no reason but still im giving my opinion on the actual game and I hope none of you have to put First things first this game deleted itself for no reason but still im giving my opinion on the actual game and I hope none of you have to put up with this. HOWEVER I had a ton of fun and I wish it was longer, it's likely that I'll do another playtrough one day, it is a well done game, too bad it had to sacrice some areas (story, lenght) to excel in others (Nemesis system and combat). The last boss fight is laughable, sadly the "QTE final boss" thing apparently became a trend. Another problem is that the game feels cramped, the maps are too small and I had a very strong feeling like the third of the game has been cut, ending was really rushed and anticlimatic. If you want good plot twist and well-developed characters, this is not a title for you. We have a generic hero with a cliche story, and it's very short on top of that, with majory if content (completed it in 27 hours with ~80 % of total completion) being side missions and collectibles (surprisingly interesting ones). Very similar to Asassin's Creed and Batman combat but feels even smoother. I don't think any of the other game ever tried something similar to it. It added a ton of life and depth to this world. It added a ton of life and depth I really enjoyed the Nemesis system, branding captains, each one having personality and weakness/strenghts.
